First!

So, you don't really create an exact line with all of the points on it, you just stick it near where it's closer to all of the points at one time.
I've seen tons of people play that game! It seems interesting.

That's exactly correct!

Cora as a person who cares about you I suggest fixing your punctuation... Your question has a period when it should be a question mark

Hi. FIRST COMMENT!!!!! So, can the line be decreasing? Will can line ever pass through the points?

Good question! Yes, we can see the regression go in many directions and in this unit we will focus on analyzing the pattern we see.

The Line of Best Fit could go through some plots by coincident, but it doesn't have to.

Hello! I'm a little confused but hopefully tomorrow I will understand.

So this is kind of like using the points on the graph to estimate what we think the slope and intercept will be?

Yes, kind of. Except our graphing calculator doesn't estimate. It will use calculations to find the BEST line to fit our data.

If we create a Line of Best Fit by hand, then yes, we will have to estimate.

Hi! I don't really understand it. Sorry I couldn't do it last night. I was really busy, but I atleast I did it before I got to school.

So, I think you basically put scatter plots into a calculator. and it will give you the values.

Yes, the graphing calculator will give us the equation. Called a linear regression equation.

This is late but so it will still make a line? I learned a little bit about it last year but i couldnt remember it anymore. One question if it start to form something like quadratic would it still count as a scatterplot?
