Wow... what an awesome problem to solve! I wonder who came up with it? (: Also, when dealing with the slope of a line, is it ok to estimate...or not since the line would be that little percentage off?

Good question. We definitely do not want to round when graphing an equation because the line will be off. Using fractions in the slope is a better idea.

Example of bad rounding
y = 2/3x
y = .67x
(0,0) (1,.67) (2, 1.34) (3, 2.01)

When it should be (3, 2)
Now imagine times 1000
(1000, 670) vs (1000, 666.67) The y value is now off by almost 4!

I rounded since I was just solving but if I was graphing I would use a fraction.

both of those problems were insanely confusing but great job of explaining it mr bigsby . when you break it down it is still very hard but it is easier than when you started. also great job with the challange problem hazel!!!

How do you round the fraction onto a decimal

Jaelyn-
I think its just like dividing...you can divide the numerator by the denominator to get the exact answer...and from there you can round the number. I hope that helps!!! :)

Is the new video for the weekend's review up yet? I don't see it...and I'm wondering if it's just my computer. :)

The Weekend Review isn't a video. I just wanted you to take a look back at the comments to see the answers to students questions. Especially if you asked somthing!
