Wow... cool and confusing! (I never knew those adjectives would go together but now they do!)

Question- Is this kind of graphing or regression analysis different from a linear piecewise equation? It seems like it, but it also seems like a linear piecewise graph would look a lot like the one drawn.

Yes, we are not connecting each plot to make a piece wise function. Instead we are creating one line that we think best fits our data.

Hi again does this regression analysis work with any function or does it have to be linear
Can u bring ur collection of the magic game cards collection😏😏

Great question! Yes, we can have a quadratic regression or an exponential regression too! But in this unit we will focus on linear regressions.

Yestarday, at the game store, my dad bought a box of 1,000 cards for $3. We don't know what cards there were, but I looked through it taday, and I found a 7/8 eldrazi proccessor(if I spelled that right)that can heal 5 damage from you. I'm considering starting a collection of magic cards, to go with my pokemon.

Cool! Yea, buying used cards is the easiest way to get into the hobby, as new cards can be expensive. $3 for a box of 1000 cards sounds like fun just looking through them all!

I have a question, if we have the dots in a curve could the graph be a quadratic graph too? And if the dots make a exponential graph? Does this mean that there would be more than one line that would be close to all of the plots? Also can we use more than one line to try and get the overall mean of plots?

In this unit we will always create one line that we think best fits the data. However, that line could be curved like exponential or quadratic. We will see that more later in the year.

When we find the best fit for the plots, can there be an outside plot that does not go near the line that we made?

Great forward thinking. When we collect real life data there always a chance that one of the data plots does not do what we expect. This is called an Outlier.

When we do our graph for our project do we have to pick an extrapolate and an interpolate and also do we figure out a cluster? Does our graph have to have an outlier?

I am still a little confused about the classwork we did in class this morning...but I watched the video again and I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Did the feedback on your classwork help? Or the extra day of practice? When you apply it to your project you can discuss with your team as well.
