Taking viewer requests!
Leave a problem you would like to see solved and I'll pick one for the next video. Rational numbers only and one variable (it can have multiple X's but not X's and Y's).

702.5=17x+55/10

I like to convert fractions to decimals when I can so 55/10 = 5.5

702.5=17x+5.5
-5.5 -5.5
697 = 17x
/17 /17
41 = x

I've played "Oh Snap"... it's really fun!

Problem to solve-
163.5-16x+14/3=45+231x

This is a really dumb question, but why is PEMDAS backwards? And when you are checking your work, why did you do PEMDAS normaly?

Good movie, by the way.

We are working the problem backwards to figure out what x value would work. Then when we check to see if it does work we are working through the problem like normal so PEMDAS is normal.

I like the videos but they are what we learned in class and get boring:(
equation: -x943.23=x(x)+8360-12/67=27%+37-x
*if you cant do 3 equal signs, just do you first two*

I can try to do some before we learn it in class. Also, some students forget so it seems to help. I am open to suggestions for video ideas.

You can only have multiple equal signs if you are sure each part is actually equal, meaning you know the value of x works. If you just wrote random numbers then it won't work. For example:

9 + x = 15 - x = 4x

this could be solved to find x = 3 and it works.

I'm glad you watched it more than once, I knew it would make more sense each time. We will practice in class the next couple days.

I definetly understand how much easier it is to do Inverse Operation. I always thought it would be harder.
